PLASTIC FREE TEWKESBURY

Plastic Free Tewkesbury is part of the Surfers Against Sewage Plastic Free Communities Network. Our aim is to reduce single-use plastics in our town.

There's no denying that plastic can cause problems at every stage of its lifecycle- from it's production (fossil fuel extraction, air pollution), during use (leaching chemicals) and in its disposal (polluting the environment, harming wildlife, lasting forever in landfill).

Plastic can be a really useful material. We don't want to remove all plastic, but we do want to tackle the avoidable single-use plastics that get used once (perhaps only for a couple of minutes) before being thrown away.

Think coffee cups, plastic spoons, polystyrene containers... How many of us have seen these items littering our beautiful town?

Together, we can take action!
